Christian Storehouse Thrift Store - Food Pantry (Video)
Serving our community means showing up for the people who need us most.
This past week, Doug Conaway visited the Christian Storehouse Thrift Store - Food Pantry in Millsboro to learn more about the incredible work happening behind the scenes every day.
The Christian Storehouse serves approximately 300 families every month, providing emergency food assistance to local families while also helping members of the broader community with needs such as rent, utilities, medicine, clothing, and other essential support.
Their food pantry provides families with everything from pantry staples to fresh food, milk, eggs, butter, cheese, and protein when available. The organization also works to support homeless individuals throughout Sussex County and prepare essential supplies for times of emergency.
And the community can help.
Shop at the Christian Storehouse Thrift Store — proceeds help support its mission and programs.
Donate food — items like peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables, soup, pasta, cereal, and other nonperishable staples are regularly needed.
Donate gently used items — clothing, linens, housewares, books, and qualifying furniture can help support the organization’s work.
Give financially or volunteer — every contribution helps the Christian Storehouse continue serving local families and neighbors in need.

For Doug, this is what community is all about: people helping people.
After 27 years of serving his country, Doug believes leadership isn’t about political parties—it’s about people. If the residents of the 41st District place their trust in him, he will work every day to listen first, lead with integrity, and make decisions based on what is best for the entire community.
Public service isn’t about making promises. It’s about keeping them.
