But new homes and communities bring more vehicles onto our roads, more students into our schools, and greater demand on utilities, emergency services, health care, and other essential resources. Those impacts need to be considered before development moves forward — not years after the fact..
We need to protect what longtime residents love about Sussex County while planning thoughtfully for the families who are choosing to make their lives here.
Development and infrastructure have to be part of the same conversation. We shouldn’t approve growth today and leave residents to deal with the consequences tomorrow.
